Purpose of Position

The KyCC Accountant will provide financial expertise and oversight for the overall KyCC annual budget of approximately $1.5m. Funds include grants and NKU agency accounts, both of which are tracked through the NKU SAP system. The Accountant will be supervised by the executive director and will work closely with the PIs of the grants, usually the executive director and/or the assistant director.

Primary Responsibilities

Administer the Kentucky Campus Compact overall operating budget of approximately $1.5m. Prepares regular budget reports on operating expenditures and balances. Provide regular budget projections and corresponding recommendations. Use SAP for NKU financial tracking and Salesforce for in-house financial tracking when appropriate.

Provide oversight and tracking on all grant budgets, including creating first drafts, and making revisions and amendments. Provide budgets to the PI for approval. Keep Research, Grants, and Contracts informed at all stages of grant development and revisions. Prepare regular grant reports on expenditures and balances.

Support the Grant Coordinator by working with him/her on budgets, providing consultation and coaching.

Build collaborative relationships with NKU Comptroller’s office and Research, Grants, and Contracts and with Campus Compact Independent Affiliates finance staff.

Assist in the financial aspects of KyCC creating a 501©3 nonprofit entity.

Participate in other financial projects or initiatives started at KyCC

Prepare documentation and participate in any internal or external audits, site visits, or other requests from NKU, funders, and government agencies.

Participate in KyCC staff meetings and trainings and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and 5 years of related experience required

Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office suite, Google drive platform, and the ability to quickly learn new programs. Salesforce experience preferred.
