The Zhang Laboratory (https://cop-zhang.sites.medinfo.ufl.edu/) is seeking a self-motivated postdoctoral scholar to develop mRNA delivery platform for cellular engineering. The Immunoengineering lab led by Dr. Zhang integrates materials science, immunology, and clinically-relevant animal disease models to create novel nanotherapeutics for controlled modulation of the immune system.

Our current research focuses include:

  1. Engineering Synthetic Nanoplatforms
  2. Engineering Cell-based Therapy
  3. Physiology-guided Drug Delivery.


The successful candidate must be self-motivated, highly organized and able to communicate efficiently in a multidisciplinary team. The candidate must be able to thrive both in independent research and while working collaboratively with other fellows, graduate students, and staff in the lab.

A recent Ph.D. degree in the either Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or any related field is required. The candidate should have strong background in polymer chemistry, nanoparticle formulation, characterization, and drug delivery. A candidate with experience in cell culture, flowcytometry, ELISA, murine tumor models is strongly desired but not required.
