Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is recruiting for a full-time Accountant Technician 1 for Auxiliary Services. This position will provide accounts payable services and processes across the TMCC campus. This includes, but is not limited to: procurement cards, travel, expense reports, and supplier invoices. The Accountant Technician 1 will provide financial services that ensure accurate payment and financial transaction management in accordance with GAAP, NSHE purchasing policies, and TMCC policies. This position will also train the campus community on purchasing policies and processing in the Workday system. Accounts payables will also monitor and maintain accounting and related records using extensive knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel) and Workday. This position will also handle monthly reconciliations such as stale dated checks, assisting with banking reconciliations, and cancelation/reissuing vendor checks.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and two years of financial records maintenance experience which includes such duties as controlling accounts payable/receivable; preparing financial reports for internal management use; and reconciling complex accounts; OR two years of experience as an Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR one year as an Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
