Position Description

The Department of Human Relations in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Oklahoma (OU) invites applications for a Renewable Term Lecturer on a 3 year-term for its Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice online program, beginning the Spring 2021 semester. The teaching expectation is four (4) courses in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters (4:4:4).

 

Our mission for the Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice online program is to advocate for policy and programmatic changes through educating professionals in the field of social services. Of particular interest at the Department of Human Relations are candidates who are committed to making a difference in society through social change. Responsibilities include teaching masters courses offered online and advising online graduate students. The new online program aims to reach a wide student population across the nation who are interested to gain more education while working in a different field. This student population is eager to excel and looking for a dynamic rigorous online master program to improve their career and livelihood.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) Earned doctorate in social science or related field 2) Experience with culturally and/or diverse populations and a demonstrated authentic perspective on those populations; 3) Evidence of effective teaching skills and online communication, 4) Demonstrate effective online delivery in instruction, 5) Demonstrate experience in online curriculum development, 6) Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service, and 7) Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.

 

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Earned doctorate in social science or related field
  • Teaching online experience at least 3 years
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good written skills
  • Dedication to students’ success and high standards of teaching
