The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. Equipped with the most technologically advanced facilities located on a university campus, the college is dedicated to safeguarding public health by studying emerging infectious diseases that affect both animal and human health.

Position Summary

The University of Georgia – College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a knowledgeable and experienced veterinary anatomist, at the lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor or full professor level. Responsibilities will include didactic teaching and service activities. Faculty will be expected to develop their own collaborative research program or contribute to ongoing research of other faculty.

Additional Requirements

All candidates must possess a DVM, a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, or an equivalent degree. The ranks of lecturer (non-tenure track) and assistant professor (tenure track) are for candidates who have recently completed their doctoral degree. The ranks of associate and full professor (tenure track or tenured) are for candidates who have achieved that rank at peer institutions or who meet the requirements to be appointed at that level. To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate or full professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

A history of teaching microanatomy will be seen as a benefit but is not essential.
