Dean of Instruction
The Dean of Instruction is responsible for providing leadership to instructional services, including supervision of the STEMM and CATE Technical Middle Colleges, Library and Learner Support, Coordinator of Curriculum and Academic Systems, and the Academic System Specialist. The Dean of Instruction is responsible for supervising faculty advising, development of the academic instructional schedules in coordination with the division directors, the management of academic records, articulation agreements, and the maintenance of the College’s electronic curriculum files, consistent with College plans and procedures.
The Dean of Instruction also coordinates the academic student learning outcomes assessment plan, and is a member of the President’s Cabinet, Academic Council and the Enrollment and Student Services Council. The Dean of Instruction co-chairs the Academic Standards Shared Governance Committee and assists with the Honors Convocation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree required; Doctorate degree preferred; community college experience required; Department / Division director experience and college teaching experience preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and follow-through skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
