About the Position:

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a Tier 1 CRC in Politics of Migration and Work eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Full Professor with tenure.

The successful applicant will have an internationally recognized research program bridging the fields of migration, global labour markets and gender relations. We are particularly interested in research agendas that focus on the provision of care by migrant workers. Strong research networks in sending communities would be seen as an asset.

About the Academic Unit:

The Department of Political Science is a research-intensive unit, with significant and longstanding strengths in the study of global politics. The department established one of Canada’s first political science PhD fields in Gender and Diversity, and is rapidly becoming a centre of expertise on migration. Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

• a PhD in Political Science or a cognate discipline
• an outstanding, international recognized research record, with a focus on politics of migration and work
• an international reputation as a research-leader in their field(s)
• a proven ability to attract external research funding
• a proposal for an original, innovative research program of the highest quality
• demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels
• a superior record of attracting and mentoring graduate students

The successful candidate will work with the Faculty of Public Affairs to prepare the application for the Tier 1 CRC.
