Purpose of Position

The Testing Coordinator position will administer all tests within the Testing Center, including Placement testing, ACT, Praxis, CLEP, DSST, Accommodated Testing, Distance Education proctoring services, and other testing agency exams. These exams are primarily computer-based.

The Testing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring coordination and implementation of the Office of Student Accessibility program of academic accommodations for NKU students under the mandates of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, The Commonwealth of Kentucky laws and NKU policies.

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Testing Services and provides direct services to students, faculty, staff, community members, and examinees.

The Testing Coordinator is responsible for the security, confidentiality, and academic integrity of the testing center. In addition, the Testing Services Coordinator will maintain all assistive technology such as Kurzweil, Dragon, Zoom-text, and JAWS .

This position will train, lead, and supervise student employee(s) to assist with administering tests and tracking data on the accommodations utilized and number of administered tests.

In addition, this position will be responsible for marketing and promoting Testing Services via publication creation, by attending University events, and by maintaining Testing Services website and social media accounts.

Finally, this position will be responsible for updating all daily registrations using Testing Services’ scheduling software, as well as maintaining Testing Services’ daily testing roster and calendar.

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer various Testing Services exams. This includes demonstrating proficiency with the technical aspects of computer-based exams, as well as trouble-shooting any technical difficulties.

• Use NKU’s student information system, SAP, to enter test scores, run testing programs, and assisting IT with new testing programs in development.

• Collaborate with NKU faculty and staff on a daily basis regarding examinees.

• Update daily registrations for all testing in the Testing Center and maintain responsibility for daily testing roster and calendar.

• Marketing of NKU Testing Services to prospective students through on campus events and off campus transition fairs.

• Creation of marketing materials for NKU Testing Services.

• Utilize SAP, departmental database and other resources to track and advise students on appropriate tests.

• Track testing trends and numbers monthly in database.

• Provide assistive technology troubleshooting and training for student workers.

• Maintain website and assistive technology throughout Testing Center.

Qualifications

NKU Testing Services is looking for a highly motivated and creative candidate for the Testing Coordinator position.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track-record of top-notch customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide concrete examples of being detail-oriented, as this is an imperative skill for this position.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to trouble-shoot multiple computer and testing applications, while ensuring testing integrity and the smooth operation of services within the center.

Finally, the ideal candidate will have an evident passion and drive to fulfill the goals of NKU’s strategic plan.

A Bachelor’s Degree and one year related experience is required.

Finally, a preference is given to those with prior higher education experience and those who have a proficiency with computer applications and software.
