Assistant Professor - Technology Leadership & Innovation Management - (FAC001639)

The Technology Leadership and Innovation Management (TLIM) program in the Information and Logistics Technology (ILT) Department is seeking applicants for a full-time, nine-month academic year, tenure-track position at the assistant professor rank. The anticipated start date of the position is September 1, 2021.

The College of Technology is the fourth largest college at the University of Houston, and one of the fastest growing. Academic responsibilities include: conducting funded research; teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; assisting in the development of undergraduate and graduate programs; and providing program, departmental, college, and university service.

A successful candidate at a junior level will have the background to successfully establish and/or sustain a funded research record that meets the requirements for tenure at the University of Houston (see http://www.uh.edu/provost/policies-resources/faculty/_document-faculty/p-t-2018-2019-guidelines.pdf ). A successful applicant at a senior rank of associate or full professor must have, in addition to a strong teaching and student-mentoring record, an established record of nationally- or internationally-regarded publications and funding commensurate with the senior rank. The successful candidate at a senior rank seeking tenure must undergo review according to University of Houston established processes for granting tenure. In addition, the successful candidate at any rank will have a passion for teaching and mentoring students, and be committed to student success.

The TLIM program is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) and focuses on solving complex technical and business problems and developing the competitive technologist workforce through a focus on leadership and innovation skills and processes. The program, with seven full-time faculty, has grown to just under 300 enrolled majors in the past year since officially starting August 2019, evolving from the Organizational Leadership and Supervision program in the College of Technology . Graduates enjoy immediate recognition by industry in diverse career paths that include technology specialist, sales/sales consultant, systems analyst, HR manager, project manager, IT analyst, software specialist, IT director, systems engineer, director HSE, facilities management, market analyst, and others. In addition, graduates of the TLIM program often elect to pursue the MS in Cyber Security in the department, MS Technology Project Management and Human Resources Development in the College, MBA, or other relevant graduate degrees. Qualifications :

Candidates must possess outstanding academic credentials that clearly demonstrate the ability to conduct independent and successful research, teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses, and work with faculty and staff to maintain ATMAE accreditation. Expected is an earned doctoral degree in an area of study related to one or more of these content areas:

• Leading and managing technology organizations and commercialization of ideas
• Innovation and agile project management
• Information technology for business and programming for business
• Applied analytics and data management
• Global, legal, ethical issues for technology leaders
• Industrial engineering or engineering management
