Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Elderly Mental Health in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 503006), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
The Department is conducting an elderly mental wellness project in collaboration with other NGO partners in community elderly services/mental health. It aims to develop a viable and sustainable best practice model to promote elderly mental wellness and prevent elderly depression in Hong Kong.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Economics, or other quantitative research methods, or formal training in public health, psychology, social work, mental health with a demonstration of strong data analysis abilities. They should have proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; excellence in analytical evaluation and generation of practical solutions; familiarity with advanced quantitative and qualitative statistical analyses in social sciences research; and ability to work independently and as a team player.
The appointee will join the Jockey Club JoyAge Project to assist the Project Directors in planning, managing, coordinating, and implementing research activities on elderly mental health services; oversee data collection and data analysis; and draft reports and related publications. He/She will also supervise the research assistants and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned. There will be ample opportunities to work with research professionals, mental health experts, and other stakeholders in the local community.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
