The Department of Educational Studies in the College of Education and Human Services at Seton Hall University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in special education position starting in Fall 2021.

Tenure Track Faculty Position in Special Education

The Department of Educational Studies offers undergraduate initial certification programs, post-Baccalaureate initial certification programs, and MA programs in special education, instructional design and technology, and school library media specialist. Our students are undergraduates seeking professional licensure as classroom teachers, teachers of students with disabilities, speech language pathologists, and applied behavioral analysts as well as students seeking classroom licensure post-graduation, and professional teachers seeking graduate degrees in education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in special education or elementary education with.
  • Experience in teaching special education Prek-12
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special education research and best practices in the preparation of special education teachers who can serve all students
  • Demonstrated experience in diverse schools or communities
  • A demonstrated record of or clear potential for scholarly accomplishment through publication or conference presentations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have background in
    • CAEP accreditation and CEC standards
    • EdTPA
    • collaboration with P-12 partners
    • teaching, supervision and/or advising at the preservice level
