The Department of Statistics, at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park, PA), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.

Qualified candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field by their start date.

The candidate will be expected to pursue a strong research program spanning methodological and interdisciplinary research, supervise graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and be involved in service to the university and the profession. The candidate is expected to work on statistical methodology to solve problems in the life sciences via collaborations with faculty in the Huck Institutes of Life Sciences. The successful candidate will teach at levels ranging from introductory to upper-level undergraduate statistics courses as well as graduate-level statistics courses.

The Department of Statistics has strong ties with several Penn State Institutes (e.g., the Huck Institutes of Life Sciences, Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment, and the Institute for Cyberscience) that support and facilitate inter-disciplinary research.
