Job Description Summary

The Transportation and Distribution department’s motorcycle mechanic/ adjunct faculty reports to the Program Director and is responsible for mechanically maintaining the college’s fleet of 40+ motorcycles. Ability to teach others how to service and repair vehicles is a plus for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Associate degree with all experience being considered.
  2. 8+ years of motorcycle mechanics experience
  3. Industry certifications a plus
  4. Able to work flexible, part time schedules.


The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed.   1. Mechanically maintain the college fleet of motorcycles in good working condition.
  2. Keep daily logs of all mechanical work performed on vehicles.
  3. Diagnose problems and produce part numbers for ordering parts and repairs.
  4. Maintain a neat and orderly shop environment.
  5. Keep vehicles fueled up for student instructional training.
  6. Assist the Program Manager with fleet related projects.
  7. Keep accurate inventory of bikes and parts on hand.
  8. Occasionally teach Instructor staff and students how to service and repair vehicles.
  9. Other duties, as needed.

Job Requirements

  1. Degree or Industry certification from an accredited institution. Work or other experience will be considered.
  2. Unofficial transcripts or certifications must accompany application for teaching positions. Before an applicant can be recommended for hire, he/she must have an unofficial transcript or certification on file with the college. Official transcripts or certifications of academic work required upon an offer of employment.
  3. Documentation of experience and performance required.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
