Founded in 1879, Curry College is a private, four-year, liberal arts-based institution in Milton Massachusetts. Job Description:

Curry College is seeking an Associate Lecturer in the Education Department to teach the course, "Specialized Instruction for Students With Special Needs".  This class will run in a face-to-face format in the Spring 2021 semester.

 

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • At least a Master's Degree in Education or related discipline.

The candidate will have demonstrated expertise, practice and knowledge of:

  • Appropriate methods and instructional principles and strategies for teaching students with moderate disabilities in elementary and middle school settings, grades PreK-8 across multiple subject areas;
  • Knowledge of explicit instruction, positive behavioral intervention, technology supports and evidenced-based practices in reading, writing and mathematics;
  • Implementation of student specific response techniques designed to increase student engagement;
  • Identification of educational problems and implementation of interventions for curriculum and instructional modifications;
  • Demonstrate fluency in:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The candidate should possess experience in using CANVAS, and 1 - 3 years teaching at the higher education level with novice teachers.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
