To help support the work of the University we have an opening, beginning in the Fall 2021 term, for a full-time Assistant Professor in the Entry Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program.

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the faculty member is responsible for providing classroom instruction in the foundations of occupational therapy and has a primary responsibility in providing mentorship and advisement to students throughout their Capstone project development, implementation, and dissemination. This position will be a faculty role with the title of Assistant Professor and is responsible for all duties outlined in the Faculty Manual.

Academic Responsibilities

• Provides classroom instruction in the foundations of occupational therapy.
• Provides mentorship and advisement to students throughout their Capstone project development, implementation, and dissemination.
• Participates in the recommendation and procurement of education materials.
• Provides academic advisement to students.

Professional Responsibilities

• Actively pursues continuing education activities as required for maintaining professional qualifications.
• Maintains professional certifications and/or licenses as appropriate
• Participates in university and professional committees as outlined in the Faculty Manual.
• Represents the program at national, state, local, and college meetings and other activities as directed by the PD.
• Participates in the student application and selection process.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Participates in accreditation review, assessment and implementation of changes on an ongoing basis.
• Participates in the interview and selection process for FT/PT faculty and prospective students.
• Assists the PD with the preparation for ACOTE accreditation and re-accreditation site visits and self-study reports as well as ongoing accreditation review, assessment, and ongoing changes.
• Participates in program-specific events (open house, advisory board meetings, program retreats).
• Maintains responsibilities as defined in the Faculty Manual.
• Performs other activities as assigned by the PD.

Qualifications

• A post-professional doctorate degree is required. Five years' experience as an occupational therapist is required.
• NBCOT certification is required.
• Must be licensed (or obtain license) as an occupational therapist in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience working with a diverse student population.
• Peer-reviewed, published work is preferred, but not required.
