The Department of Liberal Studies at Kettering University in Flint, MI invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer in Rhetoric and Composition with the ability to teach literature and some experience in writing across the curriculum or writing program administration, to begin summer 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Rhetoric and Composition I (a freshman level composition course), and one of the department’s two required seminars: Sophomore Seminar (a writing-intensive, interdisciplinary course that develops students’ critical thinking and their understanding of the human condition including issues of race, gender, and class) or Senior Seminar (a writing-intensive, interdisciplinary course that addresses the interrelated topics of leadership, ethics, and contemporary issues). Lecturer appointments are on 9-month (3 quarters) or 12-month (4 quarters) contracts with a teaching load of three 4-credit courses per term.
