The Department of Liberal Studies in the College of Sciences and Liberal Arts at Kettering University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the humanities. We seek a scholar with demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, an active research agenda in environmental humanities, and a PhD in literature, cultural studies, philosophy, or another humanities field.
The successful candidate will also be expected to teach Sophomore Seminar (a writing-intensive, interdisciplinary course that develops students’ critical thinking skills and their understanding of the human condition, including issues of race, gender, and class) or Senior Seminar (a writing-intensive, interdisciplinary course that addresses the interrelated topics of leadership, ethics, and contemporary issues). The position gives the successful candidate the opportunity to develop new advanced electives and to contribute to the development of minors and other curricular initiatives in the department.
