Primary Purpose of Position:
The Director provides overall leadership and vision to the Residential Life Department that is in line with the university and the divisional strategic goals. By engaging with campus and community partners the executive director is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and developmental environment for NCCU students focused on student success.
Minimum Education/Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years progressive experience and a history of transformational leadership at a senior level in the area of residential life at a mid to large scale higher educational institution with a diverse body of faculty, staff and students.
• Masters degree in Higher Education or comparable academic discipline is required.
• Experience with managing complex multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Experience with living facility operations, capital planning, and facility maintenance.
• Experience with program development, student development, and staff development.
• Experience with business operations and revenue generating.
• Experience with the development and implementation of Living Learning Communities.
• Experience with managing P3 Residential projects
• Preferred THD experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Must be knowledgeable of Association of College and University Housing Officers - International standards for residential programs.
• Must be knowledgeable of Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education standards for residential programs.
• Must be knowledgeable of professional and student staff development theories and training.
