Position Summary:

The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for a Mental Health Coordinator (CAPS in Housing) position. CAPS maintains an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship and provides comprehensive mental health services to diverse students of a large state university. This is a 12 month, full-time term appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and salary commensurate with experience.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will provide counseling therapy, stress management, and suicidal, homicidal assessment and evaluation to students.

  Minimum Qualifications:

Earned master’s degree in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program, or an earned master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program, or an earned master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from a CORE accredited program.

Registration as a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) or licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois or eligible for licensure in Illinois based on reciprocity in another state.
