Overview
UNIVERSITY ENTERPRISES CORPORATION AT CSUSB
(This is not a state position)
Employment Status: Temporary, “non-exempt” non-benefited position through December 30, 2021 (appointment may be renewed annually based upon available funding, availability of work and satisfactory job performance.)
Salary: $19.00 to $28.00 per hour.
Work Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week. The exact schedule is to be determined but typically Monday-Friday between 8am-12 pm. Incumbent must be able to participate in remote or in office work depending on the directives from the CSUSB campus.
First Review Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed beginning January 21, 2021.
Typical Activities
Under the general supervision of the Program Director the Budget/Data Analyst will perform diverse and complex administrative and clerical functions related to the program data and budget needs.
- Assist in performing detailed tracking of program collection
and expenses using program databases.
- Work collaboratively with program director and UEC personnel to
provide on-going management of multiple, complex program budgets
and will analyze budgetary data to help prepare accurate fiscal
projections.
- Track expenditure activity/invoices.
- Analysis and review of expenditures to determine funds
availability, adherence to budget, allowability, allocability, to
ascertain accurate and complete submission of supporting
documentation.
- Utilize analytical skills to perform analysis and evaluation,
related to grants and contracts fund management to include, fiscal
and budget analysis, financial management, accounting, compliance,
and problem solving.
- Conduct account analysis, budget variance analysis, review of financial statements, queries of expenditure transactions, and encumbrances to identify and resolve problems.
- Fluency in using standardized office software such as Microsoft Office Package or other data-based program is required.
- Applicants must have the ability to apply a variety of complex policies and procedures to current issues, the ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough, and creative solutions.
- Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and follow assignments.
- Applicants must be self-starters and have the ability to work
both independently and as team members.
- Applicants must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with administration, faculty, staff and students.
- Applicant should also exercise sound judgment, complete assigned projects in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines.
- Applicants must possess the following critical strengths including, but not limited to: ability to follow directions, accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications: Applicants must possess the equivalent to two years of college education and /or business school; bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:Applicants must possess at least two years of progressively responsible analytical experience, working with general accounting, budgets and data-bases. Equivalent amounts of job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Fluency in using standardized office software such as Microsoft Office Package or other data-based program is required.
