The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) champions effective financial education and is the independent, centralizing voice providing leadership, research, and collaboration to advance financial well-being.

NEFE’s purpose is rooted in the belief that equitable and effective financial education makes it easier for everyone to navigate the financial system, creating a more just society. However, financial education is only one factor in a complex, interrelated personal financial ecosystem.  Within this context, NEFE mobilizes and inspires educators, researchers and advocates nationwide to maximize the impact of financial education.

NEFE seeks a leader who is passionate about its vision and wants to foster an environment where everyone can live their best financial life. The Senior Vice President will inspire staff and stakeholders to work collaboratively to accelerate progress on NEFE’s mission, strategic direction, and goals. This individual is a data-driven, research-to-practice executive who fosters vibrant teamwork, pursues quality, supports equity and diversity, and engenders mutual respect.

This person will oversee the expansion and application of NEFE’s research agenda, including increasing the portfolio of work focused on thought leadership via evidence, dissemination, evaluation, and advocacy. This individual, in collaboration with the CEO, develops strategies for furthering evidence-based best practices and convening stakeholders who will support, implement and/or evaluate these best practices.

Through a comprehensive strategic planning process, NEFE recently made a major pivot to deemphasize its curricular programming and reposition itself to lead and advance the field of financial education as a research foundation. This strategic shift places a higher focus on enhancing the quality of education as well as bolstering a thoughtful, actionable research agenda.

The Senior Vice President will be joining NEFE at a critical time to assist in leading this transition and embrace a unique opportunity to play a vital role in building and expanding research, impact, and innovation at NEFE.

This position requires a high-energy, dynamic leader who is excited about transforming the impact of financial education through research and high-quality data. This results-oriented innovator works collaboratively with teams and diverse constituencies to achieve goals. This person is a compelling and credible advocate using virtual formats, in the media, one-on-one, and in group settings.

Candidates will demonstrate a career path of progressive leadership and management experience in the nonprofit, academic, corporate, and/or government sectors. Applicants should have significant experience in growing the impact of an organization that focuses on complex, systemic issues. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a nonprofit governing environment.

NEFE’s offices are in Denver, Colorado and the Senior Vice President is expected to reside in the metro area of Denver within one year of accepting the position. This position will require regular travel estimated at 20% of the Senior Vice President’s time.

To apply, send a current resume and letter of introduction on or before Friday, February 12, 2021, to Kittleman & Associates, LLC at https://bit.ly/2Xi7qCG (click on the Apply button at the bottom of the page). For more information on NEFE, visit www.nefe.org

The salary range for this position is between $170,000 and $180,000 and commensurable with experience with an additional annual bonus potential based on performance. NEFE offers a generous employee benefits program that includes vacation, sick and holiday leave; health, dental and vision insurance; defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans; and a host of additional benefits.

NEFE is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
