Governors State University is seeking to hire a Painter in the Facilities Development & Maintenance department to perform rough and finished carpentry, assemble and repair furnishings, hang accessories, disassemble and assemble demountable partitions within the primary building, additions, out-buildings and campus grounds. All functions are defined by union contract as essential.

Salary: $47.30.
(This is an unionized position. Salary starts at the base up to an additional 5% based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications per union contract).

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED : DOCUMENTATION CONFIRMING HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION OR EQUIVALENT MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION, COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS MAY BE SUBSTITUTED (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. Successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program or four (4) years of full-time journey-level painter experience.

3. Must have worked as a journeyman for 2 years as a painter.
