Data Entry Clerk



A successful candidate will play an active role in FMU's existing academic success. This full-time position will be responsible for the data collection and quality assurance of the enrollment process, in compliance with eligibility for the office of financial aid. Performs routine analysis and calculations in the processing of data for recurring internal reports.

Essential Functions:
  • Database Management: data entry, quality assurance, and database queries. Records and monitors required data into an integrated student database.
  • Manage files and other documents and ensure an accurate progression of completed files throughout the admission process.
  • Reviews electronic applications and information for accuracy and completeness prior to loading into the Power Campus database.
  • Creates and maintains manual and computerized records; recordkeeping systems and ensures that all records are completed, accurate and up-to-date.
  • Responds to inquiries and serves as a liaison with other departments and operating units in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational problems. Organizes workload to ensure deadlines are met; schedules work assignments by order of priority and date received.
  • Resolves routine application processing problems and coordinates the resolution and/or referral of specific policy-related and procedural queries and problems.
  • Work with our database vendor and be able to communicate exactly what kind of help is needed.
  • The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of best practices in enrollment management and a record of success in increasing enrollment as well as net tuition revenue.
  • Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner.
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability.
    Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Qualifications:
  • The position requires an associate degree directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Database Administrator Certificate is a plus.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working nights and weekends
  • Customer Service skills. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Proofreading skills required.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, LinkedIn Learning, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. Familiar with Jenzabar technology suite for higher education and Banner financial system.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Pre-Employment screening is required: criminal background check and drug testing.
