The full-time College Counselor will advise clients on high school preparations for college admission requirements and the strategic completion of college applications (including research, essays, interviews, networking). The College Counselor also oversees a group of writing advisors and reviews final drafts of student college admission essays.

Required Qualifications
-
Minimum of two years working
in higher education college admissions office.

We seek candidates who typically
possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s
degree in higher education or related field, strongly
preferred.
Desired Qualifications

Exemplary interpersonal,
communication, and presentation skills and ability to work with
individuals as well as large groups. Comfortability working with
diverse populations.

Experience leading educational
workshops and presentations.

A strong sense of
self-accountability and a desire for excellence

Demonstrated leadership and the
ability to make independent decisions and meet deadlines are
essential to this position.

Strong attention to detail and
experience using technology and data to effectively build and
communicate student advancement strategies are required.

Excellent oral, reading, and
written communication skills.

Excellent organizational
skills.

Ability to learn our admissions
processes and programs.

Proficiency in basic and
professional software including Google Suite. Ability to learn to
use and manage web-based software and databases such as
Github.

Availability for evening and
weekend work
Core Duties
-
Support and advise high
school students who will apply to college.
-
Act as a key point of contact to
applicants and their families. Respond to inquiries via phone,
text, and email regarding application policies, processes, and
procedures in accordance with Fahey Associates’ practices and
values.

Manage a group of writing
advisors who will draft essays with your students.

Conduct virtual and in-person
informational presentations for client and public communities on a
variety of subjects related to admissions.

Represent Fahey Associates as the
focal point of contact at planned admissions events, both on-site
and at external venues, which might require travel. Direct vendors
or on-site personnel to successfully execute the event.

Lead and manage small
projects/programs by establishing and executing project plans,
timelines, tasks, and objectives — in alignment with Fahey
Associates’ workflows and protocols.

Liaise with internal writing
advisors, staff, and outside agencies to execute plans.

Conduct introductory phone and
video calls with prospective clients and students, describing Fahey
Associates programs, services and fees.

Other duties may also be
assigned.
Working Conditions
-
Ability to work remotely. Will work
extended or non-standard hours based on the seasonal nature of
business needs.
