The University of Dayton School of Education and Health Sciences is seeking an entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and visionary leader for its innovative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

With a projected start date of July 1, 2021, this 10.5 month, tenured associate professor will serve as the Nursing Program Director in the Department of Health and Sport Science. The department offers a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and the opportunity to nurture a BSN program enrolling its third cohort of students in Fall 2021. This Pathway Program is a cooperative agreement between Sinclair Community College and the University of Dayton, and allows highly qualified pre-licensure students to seek dual enrollment as a Sinclair Community College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) student and as a BSN student at the University of Dayton. This BSN program is poised for significant growth and national prominence.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic leadership to administer the Nursing program, including ongoing curriculum development
  • Leading the initial and ongoing process of CCNE accreditation
  • Teaching at the undergraduate level, as well as advising students
  • Facilitate collaboration with Sinclair Community College
  • Continue to engage in scholarship and/or clinical endeavors
  • Continued engagement with community partnerships and inter-professional collaboration
  • Serve at the departmental, university and professional levels
  • Advance the national profile for UD Nursing education
  • Conduct community outreach and recruitment of new students

Minimum Qualifications:

Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires a record of scholarship, teaching, and service commensurate with the criteria for promotion to the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Sport Science and School of Education and Health Sciences at the University of Dayton. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

  • Possession of a valid, unencumbered, and unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse (RN), and eligibility for an Ohio nursing license
  • Doctorate in Nursing (Ph.D. or DNP), or a doctorate in a related health sciences field with an accompanying master’s degree in Nursing
  • Teaching experience in an accredited Nursing program at the university level
  • Effective written communication skills
