Visiting Assistant Professor of Urban Planning

Duties: The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs is pleased to invite applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Urban Planning, with the possibility of extension. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2021. The position will be teaching-focused, with a 3-4 course load per semester that may include both undergraduate and graduate courses in planning, housing, neighborhood and community development, social justice, and urban studies. The faculty member will also serve on appropriate faculty committees.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in urban studies, urban planning, geography, public policy, or related area. Demonstrated successful college-level teaching experience that aligns with the teaching needs of the Levin College. Ph.D. must be conferred by July 1, 2021.

Preferred: Experience teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: housing policy, neighborhood and community development, equity and social justice, GIS, research design, public service delivery/management, or related topics. Prior experience with remote and on-line teaching formats. The ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
