Postdoctoral Fellowship: Pharmacoepidemiology & Outcomes Research (PEPI)

Location: University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, MD

Description: An exciting postdoctoral fellowship opportunity is available at the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) within the School of Pharmacy’s Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) Department. Fellowships within PHSR provide multidisciplinary, advanced training to health services researchers and clinicians and prepare fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical or insurance industries, and consulting. Training includes, but is not limited to, mentored research, grant-writing, and teaching experiences.

The PEPI fellow will engage in quantitative analytic research funded by federal, state of Maryland, and corporate agencies. Fellows will work closely with academic and state stakeholder partners to address a range of research questions on medication safety, health disparities, and social determinants of health. The fellow will apply advanced methodological and statistical methods to address confounding and bias as well as longitudinal and multi-level analyses.

Qualifications :

Qualifications: Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills are a must.

Pharmacoepidemiology research training and experience with analysis of large administrative databases and intermediate/advanced skills in programming, such as SAS, are desired. A PhD in a health-related discipline is desired, but clinicians with experience are also encouraged to apply. Strong quantitative skills are a plus.
