General Neurologist - Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (68491)
The Department of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, seeks a full time faculty at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The successful candidate will be a BC/BE adult neurologist with or without specialty training. In addition, the candidate should have an interest in the management of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury. The individual’s responsibilities will be divided between the UF Health Jacksonville Brain Wellness Program and the Department of Neurology.
This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.
The UF Health Jacksonville Brain Wellness Program is a multi-year, multidisciplinary grant funded by the Avalon Foundation. In this capacity, the successful candidate will work with other members of the program and will provide neurologic care to Veterans with TBI/PTSD.
As a member of the Department of Neurology, the individual will have the opportunity to focus primarily on their subspecialty interests. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in shared general neurology responsibilities, teaching, and research.
Following is a general description of duties and responsibilities.
Provide and maintain a high level of quality and compassionate acute and chronic to both inpatients and outpatients from a wide variety of cases.
Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Neurology and participate in the educational program.
Responsible for excellent communication with primary care physicians.
Assist in marketing of the Neurology program to community physicians and managed care organizations.
Responsible for building relationship and communicating with primary care physicians, specialist and other stakeholders to enhance patient care and grow patient.
Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested.
The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is the largest of the three colleges at the Health Science Center Jacksonville. The college is affiliated with UF Health in Jacksonville, a health system comprised of two hospitals — the 603-bed UF Health Jacksonville and 92-bed UF Health North — and more than 60 primary and specialty care practices throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

The college offers 38 accredited graduate medical education programs and 14 non-standard programs. More than 100 residents and fellows from programs across the U.S. come to UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville to participate in various clinical rotations as well.
In addition to graduate medical education, clinical rotations in all the major disciplines are provided for students from the UF College of Medicine in Gainesville. Third-year medical students enrolled at UF spend about 25 percent of their training at the Jacksonville campus, gaining valuable experience in an urban setting. While third-year rotations are only offered to UF students, elective rotations in the final year of clinical training are available to students from accredited schools in the US and Canada.
For practicing physicians, the college offers a continuing medical education program that recruits national and international speakers who are well known and respected in their fields.
The college's faculty, residents and fellows are active in clinical research. Residents and fellows regularly present their findings at locations across the country and publish their projects in well-known publications. In 2019, the campus received $23.1 million in external research funding, approximately 50% of which was federally sponsored projects.
The campus houses a 16,000-square-foot clinical and translational research facility. To support faculty and resident research, the college has a Center for Data Solutions, offering researchers analytics, epidemiology and biostatistics support, and a Center for Research Training, helping develop the next generation of highly collaborative clinical researchers.
Located in the Northeastern part of the state on the Atlantic Ocean, Jacksonville’s weather is sunny and pleasant.
