Working Title: Career Advisor Official Title: Associate Student Services Coordinator Employment Class: Non-Instructional Academic Staff FTE: .43 FTE Compensation: $20.51 per hour FLSA Status: Non-exempt Terms of Employment: 9-month academic year, fixed-term terminal Position Summary:

This position will be a member of the Career & Professional Development team and will work with students at all three campuses. UW Oshkosh has a campuses in Fond du Lac, Fox Cities, and Oshkosh. This position will primarily work with students and partner with academic units to delivery services. All staff are required to work some night and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

85% Student & Faculty Outreach

Meet individually with students to assist them in preparing for their job/internship search.

Represent Career & Professional Development and act as contact for faculty while encouraging communication between Career & Professional Development and faculty in the shared goal of preparing students for employment/internship opportunities.

Conduct presentations at meetings to student clubs/organizations and classes.

Present and grade resume assignments to classes in conjunction with faculty.

Develop and co-deliver career programs/events targeted to students.

Inclusive approach to collaboratively work with diverse populations and difference.

Utilize technology in delivery of services.

Assess needs at access campuses and design just in time career programming for students.

15% University Involvement and Development

Market the office to students, faculty, staff and employers.

Seek out opportunities for professional development both on and off campus.

Organize programs, market career events and establish/maintain relationships to engage students.

Collaborate with organizations to create more opportunities for students to gain experience.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Career & Professional Development.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in related field
Working knowledge of student career development process and current career issues
Excellent presentation skills along with strong oral and written communication skills
Flexibility to multi-task and make decisions
Demonstrated record and commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity
Experience with MS Office and operating AV equipment. Preferred:

Demonstrated experience in Career & Professional Development or a closely related college/university student services area
Master's Degree
Teaching Experience
Experience with application systems/databases, career management platforms, and video conferencing software
