Financial Specialist
Location: Moscow

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all financial activity related to the functions and operations of two academic departments and one administrative office. Duties include budget projections, customer service and preparing and processing financial transactions. The employee processes and monitors financial documents; establishes and maintains effective filing systems for financial records; processes travel and credit card statements and other related tasks. The employee reports to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences' Assistant Director of Financial Operations, Administrative Services (CALS) and works cooperatively with various departments; serving as a resource for faculty, staff and students for interpretation and implementation of University, College, and Departmental finance policies, rules, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience with financial record keeping methods.
• Experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports in spreadsheet software.
• Experience working with a database software (like Banner) to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.
• Experience working with word processing, spreadsheets and database software to develop financial reports.
• Experience managing multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• maintaining confidentiality while managing highly sensitive documents and information
• Experience with written communication skills and developing and maintaining working relationship with diverse individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two (2) years of experience providing financial support.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Experience using Excel, Banner and Argos.
• Experience working in higher education.
• Familiarity with land-grant institutions and the Extension system.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals both verbally and in writing.
