A.T. Still University of Health Sciences (ATSU) seeks applications from qualified candidates for the position of dean at the University’s School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA).   

Founded in 1892, ATSU is comprised of six graduate-level health professions schools and colleges on its Kirksville, Missouri, and Mesa, Arizona, campuses and online.

ATSU-SOMA was established in 2007 on a unique, path-breaking model of medical education. Students are based on the University’s Mesa, Arizona, campus for the first year of medical school, and for the next three years, students are placed in groups of approximately ten students at our partnering community health centers (CHCs). Linked through state-of-the-art technology to basic scientists and other educators at our Mesa campus, ATSU-SOMA students obtain an unparalleled primary care experience with clinicians who are dedicated to serving the underserved. Current CHC partners are located within the states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and also, Washington, DC. The dean directs and oversees all organizational and educational aspects of ATSU-SOMA. ATSU-SOMA is the first college of osteopathic medicine to have earned 10-year accreditation with exceptional outcomes from COCA and one of only three osteopathic medical schools to be part of the thirty-seven member American Medical Association Accelerating Change Consortium.

Qualifications: Eligible candidates must have an earned doctor of osteopathic medicine degree, current license to practice medicine, and be board-certified within their specialty through the American Osteopathic Association and/or the American Board of Medical Specialties. ATSU is seeking a dynamic leader with administrative and academic skills and experience, who is committed to educational innovation and a mission of serving the underserved.
