Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Mellon-funded Consortium on Forced Migration and Higher Education is hiring a part-time Program Administrator to support the work of the Grant's Director and the Coordinator of Research and Pedagogy. This is a limited term position, January 25, 2021 through December 31, 2022.
Working with the Grant Director and the Coordinator for Research and Pedagogy, the Program Administrator will assist in the launching and dissemination of Consortium research and pedagogical projects and support the communication between organizational partners (Vassar, Bard, Annandale, Bard Berlin, Bennington, Sarah Lawrence colleges, The New School and the Council for European Studies). This position will also work closely with the Director and Coordinator of Research and Pedagogy to assist in bridging the gap between research and liberal arts institutions and in reaching out to diverse educational communities.
Candidates must have an interest in issues related to Forced Migration and/or Immigration and must be comfortable working in an academic environment and working for a principal in a fast-paced and dynamic grant setting.
This position is a part-time, limited term position. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative support experience required. Prior work
experience in higher education setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with
diverse constituencies and competence in oral and written
communications.
- Strong time management and organizational skills and attention
to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Workday, Trello, Excel, and ability to keep the Consortium website updated.
