Position Summary:

This position provides support to data services inside the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, uploading data to the national repository, managing the data entry query resolution process, REDCap survey design, maintaining data dictionaries and standard operating procedures, and assisting the database administrator with the preparation of data freezes.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required. Preferred candidates will have a background in computer science, informatics, data management, mathematics, library science or statistics. Experience working in a research environment would be beneficial.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Familiarity with SQL, R, Python or a similar programming language required. At least one year of experience with data management or database administration preferred. Experience working with HIPAA and knowledge of data security best practices also preferred.

Title prefix will be determined based on candidate's years of relevant professional experience. A minimum of seven years of experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Additional Information:

The Data Specialist will be able to train and work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic; however, on-site work in Madison, WI will be required when normal campus operations resume. We are not able to offer relocation assisance for this position. This position has office space on University Avenue.

Candidates must be proficient with all Microsoft office products, including Excel. Must have good communication skills, both written and oral. Must be detail oriented and able to see projects through to completion. Candidates must also have ability to learn new systems and processes for the management of large data sets, and be able to work well both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
