Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The College of Health and Human Services ( CHHS ) is an interdisciplinary and integrated academic unit that includes three professional schools: the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences. The CHHS has a permanent operating budget of approximately $22M, over 200 permanent employees, and over 4,600 students.

This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Administration and Resource Management is part of the CHHS Business Core Services Team ( BCST ). The BCST provides financial, budgetary, personnel, events, facilities, systems training and support, and reporting services to all CHHS units.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

This position is responsible for leading the hiring and separation process for all permanent and time-limited faculty and staff and all part-time (temporary) faculty in the college. Responsibilities include:

•Working with administrators to develop position descriptions and recruitment strategies
•Collecting and processing documentation for initial and continuing employment
•Developing and providing training to search committees, administrators, and support staff
•Ensuring recruitment aligns with college and university strategies and the search process is inclusive and complies with all applicable guidance
•Overseeing the separation process for permanent and time-limited faculty and staff in CHHS

This position also:
•Serves as CHHS’s primary leavekeeper and ensures timesheets and leave reports are submitted and approved timely and accurately
•Provides backup to other individuals involved in CHHS personnel processes

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience or equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Preference will be given to applicants with:

•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field
•Experience with hiring processes
•Strong customer service and relationship building skills
•Ability to juggle multiple, complex projects
•Experience with technical writing or editing, especially related to position descriptions
•Experience in delivering training in person and/or in a virtual setting
•Experience with ensuring compliance with external regulations
