The School of Arts & Humanities at Mount St. Joseph University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy. The position will begin in August of 2021.

Applicants must have the ability to work collegially and effectively with faculty, students, staff, administrative colleagues, alumni, and professional communities served by the unit.


We seek candidates with an appropriate Ph.D. or who are ABD with a clear plan for completion. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate philosophy and ethics courses in our core curriculum. Examples include The Philosophical Point of View, Perspectives on Human Nature, Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, Health Care Ethics, and Business Ethics. The successful candidate will also teach upper-level seminars for students in our Liberal Arts major, as well as complete other duties as assigned. A strong commitment to teaching, advising, departmental citizenship, and a demonstrated program of scholarly research are required. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability and commitment to support diversity, equality, and inclusion.
