Job Description:
The Department of Communication at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Organizational Communication who will begin Fall Semester 2021.


Job Duties:
We seek a strong teacher and active scholar with the ability to teach courses in organizational communication theory and practice at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Classes in this area may include organizational communication, communication theory, leadership communication, listening & interviewing, conflict resolution & negotiation, and small group facilitation (among others). Additional teaching and research expertise at the undergraduate and graduate level is especially welcome in subjects such as intercultural communication, health communication, social media, and professionalizing experiences/internship. Relevant professional/ industry experience is valued.


Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Communication or a related field is required for appointment as Assistant Professor, although ABD candidates may be considered for appointment at the rank of instructor for one year until the degree is completed.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
