The Computer Science Department at Kettering University is in a phase of significant growth and expansion and seeks highly motivated applicants to fill an Assistant or Associate Professor role depending on the applicant’s experience and background.  We invite outstanding applicants who have established excellent teaching records, sustained research contribution and a significant potential to contribute to the exploding growth of Computer Science program at Kettering University. The established BS in Computer Science at Kettering University is ABET accredited, with current concentrations in Computer Gaming and Cybersecurity. We are looking for teacher-scholars that will contribute significantly to the growth of these programs; our teacher-scholar model for faculty emphasizes student and faculty development, intellectually and professionally, in a learning community.  The starting date of these positions is July 2021 and will remain open until the positions are filled.

A PhD in Computer Science, or a closely related field, is required.  We are specifically interested in candidates with research and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: Data Science, Data Visualization, Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning, Multi-agent systems or NLP), UI/UX, Human Computer Interaction, Cybersecurity, Software Systems, or Cyber Physical and Connected Systems.

A successful candidate for Assistant Professor will have laid a foundation for a promising program of research, shown devotion to continuous improvement toward teaching excellence in a range of Computer Science courses and dedication to a student-centered classroom.   A successful candidate at the Associate Professor level will have an established research agenda with a sustained publication record, balanced with extensive teaching experience over multiple years with a focus on student learning, with both depth and breadth of topics in Computer Science.  All candidates are expected to be engaged as citizens in the campus community as they carry out professional responsibilities of teaching, scholarship and service.
