GENERAL SUMMARY: This individual will be a significant contributor
to Walden University's Office of Institutional Effectiveness,
Research, and Accreditation. Responsibilities include data
analysis, identifying and solving efficiency needs, and acting as a
liaison to other data owning and using departments. Candidates must
have the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative
environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with internal clients to spec-out and execute
customization of existing reports or creation of new reports
Proactively generate ideas for improvement in reporting as well
as new ways of looking at information
Develop and continually update thorough documentation and
process flows for reporting process
Contribute as a team member in proactively developing methods
for capturing, storing, & reporting critical student, faculty,
and alumni metrics
Manage vehicle for online dissemination of data (ex.
SharePoint, Tableau)
Automate manual processes as directed as well as seek out these
opportunities and proactively make improvements
Support the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research,
and Accreditation by ensuring superior data quality
Conduct technical trainings (ex. VBA, Macros, Access, SQL) and
provide guidance as needed.
Communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
Produce analytical narratives of key findings, including
actionable recommendations
Fulfill variety of ad hoc data requests for internal
clients
Retrieve, provide quality assurance, and analyze data from
Walden's student information system, course evaluation database,
web-based surveys, and other data sources, in order to:
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May perform other duties and responsibilities that management
may deem necessary from time to time.
May be required to travel up to 10% for work related
assignments.
TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED: To perform this
job successfully an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Incumbents will be evaluated, in part, based on performance of each
essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years' experience in data
manipulation
Proficient with the Microsoft products (Excel, Access,
SharePoint)
Proficiency with relational databases required
Experience working with distributive reporting tools (Cognos,
Crystal Reports, Hyperion) a plus
Experience with Tableau a plus
Able to abide by FERPA and HR compliance rules
Experience with SQL required; familiarity with additional
coding languages preferred
Demonstrated data analysis skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree required in field related to job
expectations
Demonstrated ability in research methods and statistical
analysis, preferably within the social sciences
Demonstrated advanced Excel and Access knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to work with relational databases.
