The Visual and Performing Arts Program in the School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a tenure-system position as Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts. This position will require teaching four courses annually on the undergraduate and graduate level in addition to university service, scholarly research, and/or artistic practice. MFA, DFA, or Ph.D. is required.

We seek a colleague with a record of significant accomplishment in the study and practice of artistic performance who will design and lead course offerings in their areas of specialization.

We encourage applications from those with a global and interdisciplinary perspective, and seek candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education. The ideal candidate will exhibit a history of both artistic and scholarly research and a willingness to work across disciplines that will include the intersections of theatre, dance, music, performance art, interdisciplinary collaborations, new media, installation, and social activism. Applicants will demonstrate artistic or scholarly experience with national or international impact; commitment and excellence in the classroom; a record of leadership; and enthusiasm for shaping the future of an ambitious, growing program that combines theory and practice at a major research university with a diverse student population.

Applicants should upload a letter of interest; curriculum vitae; a statement of teaching philosophy/experience; teaching evaluations (if available) and the full contact information for at least three academic or professional references via the online application form at http://jobs.utdallas.edu/postings/15239.
