Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a Director of its new Data Science Program with the experience and vision to develop this initiative to begin on August 1, 2021.  We seek to hire an accomplished scholar-teacher, at the level of Advanced Associate or Full Professor, with a deep and innovative background in the humanities or social sciences that is representative of the cross-disciplinary nature of Data Science. This individual will join and lead an existing group of faculty and staff to build a Data Science program within our liberal arts curriculum. The new Director will support faculty and student achievement in data-driven research and pedagogy, provide administrative leadership by guiding curricular development and College initiatives, and coordinate and collaborate with key constituents across campus.  The Director will have a reduced teaching load to support these program development efforts.  Candidates for the position must hold a Ph.D. in a humanities or social sciences discipline and have significant experience in data science as applied to their discipline.  The successful candidate will also have a strong record of commitment to teaching excellence.

To apply for this position, submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of your experience in program development and your plans for building the Data Science Program at Bryn Mawr, and statement of demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion to Data Science Search Committee via Interfolio at: https://apply.interfolio.com/78600.  In addition, please submit contact information including phone numbers and email addresses of three persons who can speak to your qualifications. Applications received by March 1, 2021 will receive full consideration.

Recognizing health and safety concerns during this time, the College will be as flexible as possible in determining the nature of any interviews or meetings (virtual/remote and/or in-person interaction) that are conducted for this search.
