Summary of Position

The Biomedical Science Program in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Biomedical Sciences at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a three-year renewable, benefits-eligible non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position to commence August 2021.

The person hired will be responsible for undergraduate teaching in the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) option of the Biomedical Science Program. Teaching responsibilities will include lecture and laboratory courses in immunohematology, body fluids, and development of a course in an area of their specialty. Clinical responsibilities will include training and supervising students and coordinating student clinical internships.

The ideal candidate will show evidence of their commitment to diversity, equity and social justice and an ability to work with faculty, staff, students and community groups of varied backgrounds, not limited to socioeconomic status, gender, sexuality, disability, age, race or ethnicity.

Other responsibilities will include academic advising of students, service activities for the Department and College, and participation in the periodic accreditation process for the National Accrediting Agency of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications 

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s or Ph.D. degree and certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent). Candidates with three or more years employment in a clinical laboratory or equivalent teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences (MCBS) is an energetic and growing department with seven new tenure-track faculty hires in the past five years. We also interact with three Departments within the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture (COLSA), and the state’s Agricultural Experiment Station. The Department is also home to the only NAACLS accredited four-year Medical Laboratory Science program in the state of New Hampshire.
