The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, are seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position based out of VAPSHCS. This position will be at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding) on the clinician-scholar pathway. The new faculty member would be based in the General Medicine Service Line and would serve as the Primary Care Clinic Director. They would provide clinical care and teach in clinic and provide four weeks of acute inpatient ward attending per year.
This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30]. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date would be July 1, 2021.
QualificationsRequirements include an M.D. or D.O. degree (or foreign equivalent) and Internal Medicine board eligibility/certification (or foreign equivalent). Eligible candidates must have an established record of at least two years as a superior teacher, with documentation of such, in a university setting with both medical students and residents. Applicants must show evidence of scholarly productivity and peer-reviewed publications of original studies. Applicants must also have clinic director experience. Any U.S. Citizen may apply.
