Biology Assistant Professor, 1.0 FTE, Appointment in Department of Biological & Physical Sciences, tenure-track, Fall 2021. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field (ABD may be considered) with expertise in general microbiology, medical microbiology and an interest in parasitology. The ability to teach courses in introductory or advanced biochemistry is also desired. Evidence of high quality college teaching experience and potential for productive, externally-funded research in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting are required. Duties may include teaching General Microbiology, Microbiology for Health Sciences, Medical Microbiology, Parasitology, General Biology, and other courses as needs dictate such as Intro to Organic and Biochemistry or Advanced Biochemistry.
In addition, this position will include student advising, recruiting, departmental and campus committee participation, and potential development/delivery of online courses. The successful candidate is expected to share the University commitment to outcomes assessment, continuous quality improvement and ongoing development of the university.
Assistant Professors specialize in a variety of subjects, and are responsible for educating students as well as publishing independent academic work in scholarly journals, books and electronic media. Educational requirements for Assistant Professor positions vary based on the subject taught and the educational institution/department.

level.
