The Department of History at Thiel College invites applications for a teaching fellowship in History.  This is a one year position that starts in August 2021.  This opportunity has been developed to provide the successful candidate with quality teaching experience and mentoring in preparation for an academic career.

Candidates must have a Masters in History with preference given to candidates currently completing doctoral work. Teaching responsibilities will include:  United States History Until 1877, United States History Since 1877, and upper-division courses in United States History.  Area of specialization is open, but preference for those candidates whose teaching at both the survey and upper level would foreground race and diversity in American history and society. Candidates should have an interest in joining an undergraduate department where teaching in a small classroom environment is emphasized.  A two-course teaching load each semester and engagement on campus at least three days a week are expected.
