Summary

This individual will work collaboratively with team members from the Office of the Provost, educational and administrative leaders at Baylor College of Medicine to manage the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on College (SACSCOC) reaffirmation accreditation process for Baylor College of Medicine. This member will be responsible for program quality management, coordination of substantive change and other key SACSCOC filings, maintenance of academic policies and procedures, academic program outcome data review and collaboration with institutional compliance units to support accreditation requirements.

Job Purpose
  • Manages the institutional SACSCOC accreditation process with oversight by the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Health Systems Science.
  • Directs the educational compliance program in collaboration with the College’s audit and compliance units.
  • Drafts, reviews, and revises accreditation narratives across all required institutional standards.
  • Directs the process of academic program outcome monitoring and evaluation for SACSCOC accreditation process in collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators.
  • Leads key educational program compliance activities, including engagement with SACSCOC accreditation continuity, accreditation readiness cycle management and ongoing review of accreditation standards.
  • Refines and executes timeline for educational compliance program.
  • Coordinates submission of official reports, substantive change and other key SACSCOC filings.
  • Collates and reviews required evidentiary support for SACSCOC accreditation submissions.
  • Assists faculty and administrators in implementing assessment plans that foster student learning, degree attainment, and post-graduation success.
  • Evaluates annual assessment reports and student learning outcomes for each department to promote continuous quality improvement.


Other
  • Participates in academic and administrative program systematic review.
  • Supports curricular, co-curricular areas and administrative units in research, data collection, analysis and loop-closing related to program assessment, outcomes and impact.
  • Summarizes findings, writes executive reports and develops presentations for executive and other groups, as directed.
  • Offers development, oversight, and monitoring of the collection of multiple curricular and co-curricular assessment data for evaluation, accountability, and accreditation of programs and faculty.
  • Serves as a resource for faculty and staff for training on assessment and accreditation initiatives.
  • Maintains complete and timely electronic and web-based accreditation management system and records, as appropriate.
  • Requires highest level of mastery across multiple subject matter areas typically obtained through advanced education and significant experience.
  • Viewed as the leading expert and resource within the field by peers within and outside of the system.
  • External and peer-recognized expert; seen as "go to" knowledge resource.
  • Leads projects with notable risk and that are unique, visible, or highly complex.
  • Proves input to development of functional strategic goals.
  • Establishes operational, functional, and/or business plans for the function with midterm impact on results.
  • Recognized thought leader within and outside of the organization.
  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for the function; may set general policies and influence industry-leading practices.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Eight years of relevant experience. Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree, Doctorate degree in education (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) or related field preferred.
  • Five years or equivalent relevant work experience within institution of higher education, including direct experience with SACSCOC accreditation required.
