Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be working in Dr. Ryan Herringa's research lab ( http://braveyouth.psychiatry.wisc.edu/ ), which is interested in identifying the neurodevelopmental mechanisms of resilience and affective disorders, as well as the effects of childhood trauma. The lab's research methods include neuroimaging, psychophysiology, and research clinical interviewing.

The Research Assessor will be responsible for administering research clinical interviews to youth and caregiver research participants, conducting subject screening and symptom assessment to determine study eligibility, assisting with assessment reliability documentation and evaluation, conducting psychophysiological and MRI visits, and other administrative tasks, as needed.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

-Bachelor's degree required; preferably in psychology or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

-Experience conducting diagnostic interviews and/or psychological assessments preferred.
-Experience with MRI/fMRI data acquisition preferred
-Experience working in direct care in a behavioral or mental health setting preferred.
-Experience in human subjects research preferred.
-Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.

-Title prefix and salary will be dependent on relevant years of experience. A minimum of 7 years' experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
-Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
-Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
-Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal forms with participants, students, faculty, researchers, and staff at all levels
-Ability to positively contribute in a collaborative team environment

Knowledge/Skills Preferred:
-Experience and skills in administering semi-structured diagnostic clinical interviews
-Experience in a human subjects research lab
-Experience working with children and/or adolescents
-Knowledge of REDCap and/or data management
-Experience with data collection and data verification
-Experience working or volunteering in a mental health-related field
-Understanding of population-specific considerations in a mental health and research context, and ability to demonstrate appropriate differentiation based on development

This is a terminal position of 12 months and you will be required to serve an evaluation period. Then there is a possibility it would be extended up to an appointment of two years, and potentially made renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
