Job Description:
The Mary and Jeff Bell Library at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for the position of Director of Digital Information Literacy I-Know program. Under the direction of the Dean of Libraries, the Director is responsible for the successful implementation of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for digital information literacy, also known as the I-Know program, at TAMU-CC. The goal of the I-Know QEP is to prepare students to find, evaluate, create, and communicate knowledge using digital technologies so that they can successfully and responsibly navigate the increasingly complex modern information landscape as global citizens.
The Director is responsible for planning, facilitating, and implementing all aspects of the I-Know program. This position manages the execution, documentation, and reporting requirements of the Quality Enhancement Plan and ensures alignment with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the campus expert on digital information literacy and
the primary leader for the I-Know program.
- Work with faculty, administration, staff, and students to
ensure successful implementation of digital information literacy
across the undergraduate curriculum.
- Foster an environment of collaboration, working with all
stakeholders on the design of new policies and procedures necessary
to achieve the I-Know goals.
- Maintain alliances with key campus partners necessary for
success, including the Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) and the
Office of Distance Education and Learning Technologies
(ODELT).
- Design and deliver professional development for faculty to
incorporate digital information literacy into courses.
- Plan campus-wide activities and events to integrate digital
information literacy into the campus culture.
- Ensure campus awareness and support of the I-Know program
through various communication and marketing strategies.

- Supervise personnel within the I-Know Program office, including
one librarian and several GAs or student workers.
- Work with an assessment committee to develop and manage the
evaluation of the I-Know program outcomes.
- Prepare results and findings for annual institutional progress
reports and a five-year SACSCOC evaluation report.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Six (6) years of experience.
- Expertise with information literacy and/or digital
literacy.
- Professional development, training, or teaching experience in
higher education.
- Record of demonstrated leadership or successful project
management in higher education, including student engagement and
success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with multiple
audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Terminal degree.
- Demonstrated success in teaching information and/or digital
literacy.
- Scholarly activity (publications, presentations, etc.) within
the field(s) of information and/or digital literacy.
- Demonstrated familiarity with instructional design.
- Experience with the development of assessment plans and/or
curriculum development.
- Supervisory experience.
