The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS) at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chemistry at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Professor to begin fall 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program involving both graduate (MS) and undergraduate students. They will also be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Applications are especially encouraged from individuals whose research is cross-disciplinary in nature, and who are able to collaborate with other centers of excellence at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, such as the School of Engineering & Computing Sciences or Department of Life Sciences. While the specific field of research is open, areas of interest include material science, polymer or green chemistry. The Chemistry Program is part of the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences (PENS). It offers both undergraduate and graduate (MS) degrees in chemistry. PENS is also home to programs in Atmospheric Science (BS), Coastal and Marine System Science (MS, PhD), Environmental Science (BS, MS), Geology (BS), and Physics (BS).

Required Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field.
  • At least one year of postdoctoral experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in any of the major fields of chemistry (inorganic, organic, analytical, biochemistry, physical).
