Responsibilities:
In the New England Inflammation and Tissue Protection Institute (NEITPI), under the direction of Dr. Michail Sitkovsky , the Technician will independently perform basic or applied research of higher scope and complexity. In addition to standard responsibilities of a lab technician (managing lab inventory, safety protocols, hazardous waste, general lab maintenance), the incumbent will also be conducting research experiments with CAR-T cells and polyclonal T cells against tumors by taking advantage of previous professional knowledge. This is why bench level experience with adoptive cell transfer of human or mouse T cells to tumor-bearing hosts is highly desirable. The technician must also have extensive experience in mammalian cell culture and performing basic immunological research particularly in cancer immunotherapy or infectious disease models. The technician will utilize flow cytometry and sorting of cells; which is essential along with in vivo mouse cancer immunotherapy models. The incumbent will provide analysis of tumor microenvironment on the level of cytokines and chemokines. The technician will provide functional and administrative supervision of supporting research staff and graduate students as well as attend meetings and present research. The technician will also assist in supervising undergraduate researchers and participate in education process of undergrad students interested in immunotherapies of cancer.

Qualifications:
Must have a B.S. or equivalent and 3+ years' laboratory experience. This experience should demonstrate the ability to plan and execute research projects; previous experience with mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry (and Flowjo analysis software), ELISA, immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, fluorescent microscopy, animal handling/injection, in vivo tumor immunology assays.
