Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2021, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with broad training in mathematics, with expertise in undergraduate mathematics teaching with preference given to those with prior teaching experience. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mathematics or closely related discipline. 

Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly and/or creative activities, and working closely with students in a small college environment. Committee service and academic advising also are requirements for tenure and promotion.
